NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi Thursday pitched the upcoming Lok Sabha polls as an election to fulfill peopleā€™s aspirations after his Government ā€œfulfilledā€ their necessities, as he cautioned the BJP rank and file against any ā€œsmallest lapseā€ that may result in a setback like in 2004.

The Oppositionā€™s proposed grand alliance, which he called ā€˜mahamilavatā€™ (highly adulterated), will send the country to ICU (intensive care unit), Modi said, referring to ā€œcorruption and scamsā€ under the previous UPA rule and describing the combine as a mixture of ā€œoil and waterā€ that will leave them useless.

In a video-interaction with BJP workers and sympathisers from across the country, he referred to the ā€œexperience of Atal jiā€ to say a smallest lapse may stop the fast-paced development under his Government and ā€œease of corruptionā€ and scams will rule again.

The first BJP-led NDA Government headed by Atal Bihari Vajpayee had suffered an unexpected loss in the 2004 polls. Modi said the Vajpayee Governmentā€™s works ā€œwent in vainā€ as the country was pushed backwards under the subsequent Congress-led UPA rule of ā€œcorruption and scamsā€. (AGENCIES)

Traffic to ply from Jammu to Srinagar for 2nd consecutive day, no vehicle from Kashmir

šŸ’»Jk News info šŸ“° Only Jammu to Srinagar traffic was allowed for the second consecutive day on Saturday on the National Highway, connecting Kashmir valley with the rest of the country, a traffic police official said. Two-way traffic has been restored on the national highway, which connects Ladakh region with Kashmir while only one-way traffic will continue on historic 86-km-long Mughal road, seen as alternative to Srinagar-Jammu national highway. Traffic official said for the second consecutive day today, only Jammu to Srinagar traffic was allowed. Oppn members stage walkout in LS over Unnao rape case issue

šŸ’»Jk News info šŸ“° NEW DELHI : The opposition members from Congress and other parties stage walkout on Wednesday in Lok Sabha registering their strong protest over the manner the Unnao rape case was being handled by the BJP government in Uttar Pradesh. As soon as the House began dayā€™s session, Congress floor leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury raised the issue during Question Hour. He insisted that the Home Minister Amit Shah should make a statement. Amid ruckus as several BJP members raised objections to his remarks, the Congress leader while a CBI has been probed, he alleged that the ā€˜victims and the family membersā€™ are getting threats. Speaker Om Birla said this issue was raised by the member earlier also.
