HM militant arrested, arms & ammunition recovered in Budgam

SRINAGAR :Security forces have arrested a Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) militant along with arms and ammunition in central Kashmir district of Budgam.
A police official on Thursday said that following specific information, a checkpoint was established at Qazipora in Budgam on Wednesday night.
He said police intercepted a militant, identified as Showkat Ahmad Tantary, at the checkpoint. “During checking, police recovered arms and ammunition from him,” he said, adding the ultra was immediately taken into custody.
“As per police records, he was affiliated with proscribed militant outfit HM,” he said.
He said police has registered a case under relevant sections of law at PS Chadoora in the matter. “Incriminating materials, including arms and ammunition recovered from his possession,” he said.
He said further investigation in the matter is going on.
