Major infiltration bid foiled, 3 terrorists killed in Gurez

Alert troops on Wednesday foiled a major infiltration bid from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), gunning down three heavily armed terrorists in Gurez sector at north Kashmir district of Bandipora, official sources said.
The operation was going on in the forest near the Line of Control (LoC), when the reports last came in, they added.
Sources said the Pakistani troops resorted to unprovoked and indiscriminate shelling and firing from across the LoC in Gurez sector, to provide cover to the terrorists, to sneak into this side from Baktur area early this morning, under the cover of darkness.

Traffic to ply from Jammu to Srinagar for 2nd consecutive day, no vehicle from Kashmir

Two-way traffic has been restored on the national highway, which connects Ladakh region with Kashmir while only one-way traffic will continue on historic 86-km-long Mughal road, seen as alternative to Srinagar-Jammu national highway. Traffic official said for the second consecutive day today, only Jammu to Srinagar traffic was allowed. Oppn members stage walkout in LS over Unnao rape case issue

As soon as the House began day’s session, Congress floor leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury raised the issue during Question Hour. He insisted that the Home Minister Amit Shah should make a statement.
