J&K to continue with extant scheme of Admissions to the NEET UG/PG Courses, Not to contribute to All India Quota Scheme

JAMMU, JANUARY 31: The Administrative Council which met under the chairmanship of Lieutenant Governor, G C Murmu decided that the Jammu and Kashmir will continue with its existing scheme regarding admissions to the NEET, Under Graduate and Post Graduate Courses and not to contribute to scheme of All India quota for the academic year 2020-21. 


 The decision has been taken in view of the fact that the union territory of J&K has its own reservation policy. In J&K Reservation Policy, various categories of socially and educationally backward classes comprising RBA, OSC, ALC, besides other categories viz Sports, Children of Defence Personnel (CDP), Children of State Police Personnel & Paramilitary forces (Permanent Residents) Serving in J&K State (JKPM) etc. are included thereby providing equitable opportunities/ representation to all the category candidates in admissions to undergraduate and postgraduate medical courses. 


The J&K Reservation Policy, affords an opportunity to female candidates and students of backward areas to compete in the competitive examinations, including medical examinations, successfully
