“We were informed this evening that Mian Qayoom has suffered cardiac arrest and has been shifted to hospital for medical treatment,” family sources said.
The family appealed to people to pray for his health and recovery. Pertinently, J&K High Court, Srinagar has directed the concerned jail authorities and other agencies one month before to take care of his deteriorating health conditions and provide proper medical care and treatment to him.
However, family sources said that nothing positive has been done to date and consequently this all happened.
Mian Abdul Qayoom, President J&K High Court Bar Association, Srinagar was taken to custody on 4th August 2019 in wake of the government announcement about the abrogation of Article 370, which gives special status to the State of J&K.
